The first Snow Leopard Geckos that I ever saw were on the site of A1 Reptiles. This was in 1997. At that time it was inferred that they had obtained the original breeding stock in a shipment of wild caught Leopard Geckos. Because of the white coloration they exhibited (especially as hatchlings), they named them Snow Leopard Geckos. Below are the original pictures from A1 Reptiles Site.
I obtained a pair of them in 1998. They were a far cry from what we consider Snows now. As adults they were very skinny, had angular heads, weird shaped tails, and were not very white in color. I obtained a pair of them in 1998.
Here is a picture of my original Male. He was produced by A1 Reptiles, but sold to me by another breeder. You can see in the picture that the tail is skinny in the middle and slightly crooked at the end.
This is a picture of the Female. This one was produced from A1 stock.
