A very exciting clutch hatched this week. Pastel Yellow Belly's!!!!!
In 2006 I acquired a Male Yellow Belly from Amir the Yellow Belly King. He was only 200 grams when I received him but he ate well and was up to 800 grams in time for the 2007-breeding season. I bred him to a very dark normal and I got a clutch of seven eggs from her on 4/20/07. They finished hatching by 6/17/07. The clutch consisted of 1.3 Yellow Belly’s and 1.2 Normal Sib’s. I also bred him to my big Pastel girl and on 5/18/07 I got a clutch of nine eggs from her. They finished hatching by 7/14/07. The clutch consisted of 1.1 Pastel Yellow Belly’s, 1.2 Pastel Sib’s, 0.1 Yellow Belly, and 1.2 Normal Sib’s. Since everyone has seen tons of pictures of Pastel’s and Normal Yellow Belly’s lets get right to the pictures of the Pastel Yellow Belly’s.
This one is PASTYB07-1 the Female on the day she hatched.
In this shot you get a view of her belly.
This one is PASTYB07-2 the Male.
Here is a belly shot of the Male.
Here is a comparison picture of a Pastel Yellow Belly and one of the Pastel Sib’s.
The Pastel Yellow Belly is on the left and the Pastel on the right. As you can see the Pastel Yellow Belly has much more intense blushing, better color, a slightly lighter colored head (which is hard to see with the glare from the flash), and the tighter Yellow Belly speckling at the belly. The Pastel’s pattern just breaks up.
The next groups of pictures are of the Pastel Yelow Belly's after feeding for a while and having shed a few times.
The first four pictures are of PASTYB07-1 the Female.
Once again here is a shot of the Females belly.
These next four pictures are of PASTYB07-2 the Male.
Here is your Belly shot of the Male.
Here are a few updated comparison pictures of a Pastel Yellow Belly and one of the Pastel Sib’s.I hope you enjoy the pictures,
